Things to do in Kingston this September

Summer may be coming to an end, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t still plenty of things to do. We have put together a list of some of the top events happening in Kingston this September that you should be sure to check out:

Kingston Ribfest & Craft Beer Show - September 6 - 8

Head over to the Memorial Centre and enjoy mouth-watering BBQ ribs and chicken plus a great selection of local craft beer. There will be live entertainment and a kids fun zone, making this a great event to go to with a couple friends or bring the whole family.

Multicultural Arts Festival - September 8

This is a free family event held at Confederation Park. The Multicultural Arts Festival includes live performances, art workshops, and plenty of traditional dishes from countries all over the world. Experience different tastes, arts, and workshops.

Kingston Family Fun Fest - September 8

Returning for its 6th year, Kingston Family Fun Fest takes place at CFB Kingston. This is a completely free, all ages event with a full day of activities including bouncy castles, military demonstrations, boat/train rides, BMX demonstrations, food, prizes, and much more. 

YGK Emerging Musician Competition Showcase Concert - September 20

A showcase of the six winners of the inaugural YGK Emerging Musician Competition featuring a wide range of genres of music. A great evening for anyone who loves supporting local music.

Kingston Fall Fair - September 12 - 15

The annual Kingston fall fair will be held at the Memorial Centre and feature rides, games, prizes, animal shows, a demo derby, an array of vendors, and much more. Bring the family out for a weekend of fun.

Rockin’ The Big House - September 14

Get ready to rock in the big house for the first ever public concert in Kingston Penitentiary in support of the United Way. This concert will bring together some of the finest Canada talent such as: Headstones, The Trews, The Pursuit of Happiness, Kasador, and Tom Cochrane. 

Kingston Poutine Feast - September 19 - 22

Another great event at the Memorial Centre: Kingston Poutine Feast. Full of many amazing poutines to try, including vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free options, bumpin’ tunes, and games for the whole family. This event is dog friendly, so feel free to bring the pupper and head down with some friends or family and try as many different poutines as you can handle.

2019 Fall Regatta - September 20 - 22

The summer-long sailing competition CORK wraps up this month with the Fall Regatta. There are over 200 athletes expected to compete, so hit up the waterfront or head over to Portsmouth Olympic Harbour to see who wins.

The Glorious Sons Live - September 21

Check out Kingston’s own The Glorious Sons at Richardson Stadium. The concert promises to be a celebration of music, art, and community. 

Kingston Writerfest - September 25 - 29

Renowned for its unique programming and intimate atmosphere, the festival welcomes an audience of over 6,000 to more than 50 events featuring 70 authors from around the world. 

Fall Art After Dark - September 27

A free event that sees galleries and art loving businesses in downtown Kingston open their doors from 7 PM to 10 PM to show you the best art that Kingston has to offer.

Fall Princess St Promenade - September 28

Businesses, restaurants, and community groups take to Princess St as the stree is shutdown to traffic for the day. WIth tons of fun activities planned, it is a great event for the whole family.
